DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ashanti Hunt scored 13 points in Bethune-Cookman's 68-62 setback to Troy Sunday afternoon in Moore Gymnasium.
Kayla Robinson scored 15 points and Jasmine Robinson 13 as the Trojans (4-2) pulled away from a 49-46 lead by holding the Lady Wildcats (4-1) scoreless for the first 7:05 of the fourth quarter.
BCU cut a 13-point deficit to 61-55 and 67-62 on baskets from
Camary Harris, but couldn't come any closer as a four-game winning streak was snapped.
Daniella Hatcher and
Ciara Thompson each scored 11 points for the Lady Wildcats, who took an early 11-4 lead on Hatcher's jumper with 5:39 left in the opening period.
Troy rallied for a 15-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, then outscored BCU 23-12 to take a 38-25 halftime lead.
Thompson's three-point play brought BCU within 49-46 with 1:17 left in the third period.
Harris had 10 points for BCU, who travels to Jacksonville Wednesday.
