WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Bethune-Cookman University opened the 2019-20 Indoor Track and Field season with three student-athletes registering top ten national performances at the JDL Early Bird Classic and the JDL Kickoff Invitational at the JDL Fast Track Complex.
Kelton Williams' high jump of 7'0 ½" and
Monae Nichols' long jump of 19' 11 ½" are both the sixth best result in the nation so far this season while
Marc McCoy's triple jump of 49'6 ¼" placed him eighth.
"We still have a lot to do but it was good to see how effective our fall training went," said BCU Head Coach
Donald Cooper. "We're looking forward to a great 2020 season after we return from the break.
"Kelton was in new air with his first jump of seven feet," Cooper added. "It was one of many well executed performance we had over the weekend."

Curtis Thomas (60 meters) and Malcolm Reed (400 meters). Berryhill also qualified in the 5000 meters and McCoy in the High Jump.
WOMEN: Brittany Gill (5000 meters),
Najah Whitfield (60 hurdles),
Jacqueline Thomas (Long Jump and High Jump), Sanaa Marlin (Triple Jump), and
Jayla Hill (Shot Put and Weight Throw). Nichols also qualified for the 60 meters and the 60 hurdles while McNeal also qualified in the Long Jump.
