DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concludes its non-conference schedule Saturday when it hosts Central Michigan at 2 p.m. in Historic Moore Gym.

The Lady Wildcats (8-3) return to action after winning two games last week at the Hatter Classic against Appalachian State and Stetson. The victories represented career coaching wins No. 300 and 301 for Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis, now in her 12^th season at BCU.

BCU has already matched 2017's mark for most non-conference victories in a season. That team would go on to a school record 24 wins.

BCU and Central Michigan (6-3) have never met, but have been in the same place at the same time. The Chippewas played Michigan State in South Bend, Ind., in last year's NCAA tournament after the Lady Wildcats made their NCAA tournament debut against then defending champion Notre Dame.

Central Michigan will be the second NCAA tournament team BCU has faced this season. The Lady Wildcats met Auburn back on Dec. 15.

After this, BCU opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play at Norfolk State on January 4 in a rematch of last year's conference tournament championship game.

BCU NOTES: BCU enters the game ranked 24^th in the nation in scoring defense (54.7 ppg) and 13^th in three-point field goal defense (24.3 percent) … Ashanti Hunt has closed to 148 points away from the 1,000 point career mark; She's also 15 victories away from tying Angel Golden's career record mark of 84 … BCU has had a different leading scorer in each of the last five games … Daniella Hatcher has had eight double-figure games with the other three games seeing her score eight.

ABOUT CMU: Junior guard Micaela Kelly is sixth in the nation in scoring at 22.7 ppg…CMU ranks 43^rd in the nation in scoring at 75.2 points per game. The Chippewas rank 24^th in 3-pointers per game (8.6) and are in the top 32 in the nation in field goal percentage, free throw percentage and 3-point field goal percentage… The Chippewas are ranked 10^th in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll; BCU is receiving votes.
