DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concludes its non-conference schedule Saturday when it hosts Central Michigan at 2 p.m. in Historic Moore Gym.
The Lady Wildcats (8-3) return to action after winning two games last week at the Hatter Classic against Appalachian State and Stetson. The victories represented career coaching wins No. 300 and 301 for Head Coach
Vanessa Blair-Lewis, now in her 12
th season at BCU.
BCU has already matched 2017's mark for most non-conference victories in a season. That team would go on to a school record 24 wins.
BCU and Central Michigan (6-3) have never met, but have been in the same place at the same time. The Chippewas played Michigan State in South Bend, Ind., in last year's NCAA tournament after the Lady Wildcats made their NCAA tournament debut against then defending champion Notre Dame.
Central Michigan will be the second NCAA tournament team BCU has faced this season. The Lady Wildcats met Auburn back on Dec. 15.
After this, BCU opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play at Norfolk State on January 4 in a rematch of last year's conference tournament championship game.
