Bowlers Conclude Second MEAC Event of 2018-19 Season

Wildcats fight hard in event hosted by N.C. A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bethune-Cookman Bowling was back in action this past weekend as the Wildcats took part in the second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) event of the 2018-19 season hosted by North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
Under the direction of first-year Head Coach Chelsea Gilliam, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman welcomed back Samantha Ford to the lineup, after the Daytona Beach freshman missed the last event with an injury.
 
Bethune-Cookman began the weekend with five Baker matches on Friday, Feb. 22.
 
The Maroon and Gold first took on Norfolk State, falling to the Spartans by a count of 773-675 in a tough matchup. In the next match, the Cats fell to Coppin State (819-789) in one of the closest Baker matches of the day. BCU faced off against Howard (L, 876-768), MEAC newcomer University of Alabama-Birmingham (L, 916-758) and fellow newcomer Monmouth (L, 845-632) to round-off the day.
 
In Traditional play during Saturday's action, BCU faced off against four teams.
 
The Wildcats started off with an 842-674 setback to Morgan State, before falling tin a closely contested meeting with Florida A&M, 825-672. Against MSU, Bethune-Cookman used a team-high 178 performances from Ford, as well as a 140 effort from Bethany Gray-Shealey.
 
BCU would slide back against Delaware State, 989-620. And the Cats finished the day with a hard-fought 894-684 setback to host North Carolina A&T.
 
Against Delaware State, the Maroon and Gold used mirror scores of 145 from Ford and Gray-Shealey, respectfully. Ford would also add a weekend team-high 192 game against North Carolina A&T. Meanwhile, it was Bailey Williams sparking a 153 against Florida A&M.
 
The Wildcats get back to the lanes March 15-17, when Bethune-Cookman travels to the HBCU Invitational hosted by Jackson State in D'Iberville, Mississippi.
