Yudika Rodriguez sit atop the field after day one at the Lonnie Barton Invitational played at the LPGA International Jones Course, hosted by LIU Brooklyn. The Wildcats shot a 294 (+6), 12 strokes better than second-place Farleigh Dickinson (306).
Yudika Rodriguez set the tone with a 70 (-2). She birdied five holes, including back-to-back on holes three and four. She finished one stroke better than Farleigh Dickinson's Nicola Smith.
Sumie Francois was one-over with a 73 and totaled four birdies to finish in a tie for third.
Caitlin Evans-Brand finished with a 75 (+3), good for seventh in the field.
Isabell Friberg with a 76 (+4) that tied her for eighth, and
Isabela Miravite had a 77 (+5), putting her in a tie for 11th.
