ORLANDO – Bethune-Cookman University's
Carlin Berryhill was edged out by Florida Atlantic's Lachlan Shiver for individual honors late Friday at the UCF Invitational.
The 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion clocked an 8K time of 25:06.08, just behind Shiver's winning time of 25:05.50. Berryhill finished ahead of all five University of Florida scorers that produced the Gators' win in the team competition.
"It was a great race," Berryhill said. "I still have some things I need to fix, but overall I'm happy how the race went. There's always room for improvement."
BCU finished fourth in the five-team event.
