@BCUHoops Gameday: Coppin State and Morgan State (MEAC)

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman returns home to Moore Gym to begin a three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference home stand with a 4 p.m. match-up against Coppin Saturday and a 7:30 Morgan State meeting Monday night.

The Wildcats (7-9 overall, 1-1 MEAC) opened league play with a road split, falling at Norfolk State Saturday before rebounding with a 102-73 triumph at Howard Monday that marked the first time since 1990 BCU has scored 100 points in a road league game.

BCU is 3-0 at home this season.

BCU UPDATE: The Wildcats lead the league in scoring (74.3 ppg) and three point FG percentage defense (.281) … Cletrell Pope's national numbers: FIRST in offensive rebounds (4.63), sixth in total rebounds (11.6) and eighth in double doubles (nine) … Before freshman Joe French went off for 12 points in 13 minutes against Norfolk State and 26 against Howard to earn Rookie Of The Week honors, he hadn't reached double figures in 10 straight games … Isaiah Bailey has found a way to get to the line ten or more times in five games this season … Leon Redd has hit two or more three pointers in his last four games.

ABOUT COPPIN STATE:  Kamar McKnight leads the Eagles (4-13,0-2) with an average of 14.7 ppg while Koby Thomas is averaging 7.4 rebounds per night. The Eagles have dropped seven straight after a nice road win at East Carolina.

ABOUT MORGAN STATE: The Bears (8-9,2-0) and Norfolk State share the early lead in league play. Morgan State had non-conference wins at George Washington and Loyola Marymount. Stanley Davis' 13.8 clip leads three players averaging double figures.
