.@BCUhoops Game Day: North Carolina Central

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman looks to remain unbeaten at home when the Wildcats host North Carolina Central in a key January Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday at 4 p.m. in Historic Moore Gym.

The Wildcats (9-9 overall, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) are 5-0 at home this season, including wins over Coppin State and Morgan State in this home stand. Taking charge against the Eagles (6-11,2-1) would help BCU remain one of 51 Men's Division I unbeaten at home and match a season-long for consecutive wins with four.

MEAC UPDATE:  BCU is one game behind Norfolk State and a half-game behind North Carolina Central after two weeks of league play. If the MEAC Tournament started tomorrow, the Wildcats would meet Morgan State in the 3-6 quarterfinal.

BCU UPDATE: The Wildcats lead the MEAC in offense (75.5 ppg) and 3FG% Defense (.286) … Cletrell Pope's the only player in the league averaging a double-double (14.6 ppg and 12.2 rpg) … Monday's win over Morgan State boosted him to the nation's lead in offensive rebounds per game (5.0) , fourth in rebounds per game (12.2) and fifth in double-doubles … Isaiah Bailey is right behind Pope at sixth in the MEAC in scoring (13.9) and is on the fringe of making a run for the 1,000 point career mark, needing 207 … Malik Maitland is averaging 11 ppg during conference play.

ABOUT NCCU: Jibri Blount is a Player Of The Year candidate, averaging 19.3 points and 9.1 rebounds … The Eagles to Delaware State last Saturday … BCU is 2-1 against NCCU in the Ryan Ridder era, with both wins in Moore Gym.
