DELAND, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman is back closer to home for week four of the 2020 season this weekend at the Stetson Invitational beginning Friday.
The Wildcats (1-14) open the tournament at noon against Colgate (6-4) then meet the host Hatters (6-8) at 5 p.m. BCU meets Valparaiso and Stetson Saturday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. then ends the tournament Sunday at 10 a.m. against Colgate.
BCU UPDATE: The annual trip to California saw the Wildcats face national level opposition, including #15 Oregon and #2 Washington, in additional to post-season regulars Texas A&M and BYU, whom BCU took scoreless into the fifth.
Quianah Mitchell hit .308 in the five games, while
Elise Gibbs went 3-6.
FOR THE SEASON: Mitchell leads the team with a .262 average, followed by newcomers
Haley Parks (.233) and
Samantha Kelley (.219). In the circle,
Victoria Guzman and
Destiny Enriquez have 4.02 and 4.04 ERAs, respectively.
SCOUTING: Colgate posted a 3-2 record last week at the Maderia Beach Invitational …. Stetson went 1-4 last week at Disney, including a 12-2 setback to Morgan State … Valpo split with Colgate and Garner- Webb and beat Robert Morris two weeks ago.
