BOCA RATON, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concluded play in the FAU First Pitch Classic with a 4-0 loss to Wisconsin Sunday morning.
Badger senior Kaitlyn Menz held the Wildcats to hits by
Jacki Smith and
Samantha Kelley as BCU wrapped up opening weekend with a 1-4 mark. BCU registered its win Saturday when
Victoria Guzman and
Destiny Enriquez combined on a 2-0 shutout of Indiana State.
Kelley led the Wildcats with a .364 (4-11) average in the five games, followed by
Haley Parks (.333) and
Isabella Sandoval (.313) with three doubles. Sophomore
Carrington Robinson paced the returners with a .308 (4-13) clip and Smith at .286 (4-14).
In the circle. Enriquez logged a 2.21 ERA in her four appearances.
BCU returns to action at the Disney Diamond 9, meeting Appalachian State and Lehigh Friday, St. Joseph's and Georgia Southern Saturday and Appalachian State Sunday.
