CLINTON, Miss.
– Bethune-Cookman's debut in the Southwestern Athletic Conference cross country championship saw the Wildcat men finish seventh and the women tenth Monday at Choctaw Trails.

Freshman Malcolm Brown paced the Wildcat men, completing the 8K course in 27 minutes, 45.67 seconds followed by senior Cameron Berryhill in 27:54.76 for 20th and 22nd place finishes, respectively.

Sophomore DaMauri Little was 33rd in 29:07.63 with Isaiah Johnson (30:04.82, 40th) and David Richards (31:50.88, 47th) trailing.

Jackson State, with three runners in the top six, took the men's team championship, edging out Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Prairie View, who had the top two finishers/ 

Alcorn State put four runners in the top ten to take the women's team title.

Junior Kaliece Pickney was the first Lady Wildcat finisher in 30th with a 5K time of 21:04.11

Other B-CU times and finishes included Amenda Saint-Louis (40th, 21:59.38); Indya Campbell (43rd, 22:13.95);  Vel'Lance Wells (46th, 22:44.30); Kaiel Kimble (56th, 23:23.13) and Jourdon Cooper (64th, 25:14.83).
