Newark, NJ. – A challenging non-conference schedule continues for Bethune-Cookman men's basketball as the Wildcats head north to New Jersey for a top 25 matchup with #21 Seton Hall, Sunday at noon.

The last time out for the Wildcats, they fell to Liberty, 59-51, at the Ocean Center. Joe French scored 25 point in the loss, and Damani McEntire scored 10, but it was not enough to overcome 6 thee pointers and 27 points from Liberty's Darius McGhee.
 
Scouting the Pirates
 
The nationally-ranked Pirates soared into the top-25 after a thrilling win over #4 Michigan on Nov. 16. Seton Hall took down the Wolverines in Ann Arbor behind three double-digit scorers in Jared Rhoden, Bryce Aiken, and Tray Jackson. Six of Aiken's points came in the final two minutes to help the Pirates put Michigan away.
 
The Pirates lone loss this season came against Ohio State at the Rocket Mortgage Fort Meyers Tip-off last weekend.
 
The Pirates are averaging 75.6 points per game and allowing an average of just over 59. The Pirates are shooting 41 percent from the field and 32 percent from three. Seton Hall also averages 17.4 free throw attempts per game, of which they make 73 percent.
 
Rhoden leads Seton Hall with 18.5 points per game the 6-6 forward also leads his team with 6.8 rebounds per game. He has also excelled at getting to the line, with 32 free throw attempts in five games. Aiken has made 8 of 19 three point attempts this season, a 42 percent clip, on top of shooting 51 percent from the field.
 
Notes
  • Sunday's contest will be the first for the Wildcats against a top-25 opponent since Nov. 10, 2019, when B-CU fell to No. 13 Texas Tech, 79-44
  • The Wildcats are the third-best shooting team in the SWAC, knocking down 41 percent of their shots from the field.
  • Joe French is shooting 41 percent from behind the arc this season, third-best in the SWAC. He has also attempted the third-most three pointers in the conference.

Friday's game will be the first ever meeting between Bethune-Cookman and Seton Hall.
