Raleigh, NC – A few Wolfpack runs were the difference as Bethune-Cookman stuck with NC State all night, falling 48-65 in Raleigh, NC.
 
How It Happened
 
The Wildcats (1-8, 0-0 SWAC) appeared to be in trouble through the first five minutes of play, as NC State (7-2, 0-1 ACC) scored the first nine points of the game. Wildcats head coach Reggie Theus called a quick time out, and the Wildcats settled down thanks to three quick buckets from Dylan Robertson. A Joe French three-pointer and a Damani McEntire layup in the final two minutes of the half sent the Wildcats into the half down only 29-34.
 
The Wolfpack opened the second half with a 15-7 run, and the damage was done against B-CU. The Wildcats kept things competitive, frustrating the NC State offense. The Wildcats limited the Wolfpack to 34 percent shooting and 3-12 from three in the half. After French scored 12 in the first half, NC State held him to only two second-half points en route to the 65-48 victory.
 
French finished with 14 points to lead Wildcats' scorers on 6-17 shooting with two three-pointers. Robertson finished with ten. Marcus Garrett grabbed six rebounds.
 
Reigning ACC Player of the Week Dereon Seabron led the Wolfpack with 16 points and 14 rebounds

• NC State attempted 16 free throws in the game – down from their average of 19 for the season. The Wildcats attempted six.
• B-CU shot 43% in the first half but only 28% after halftime.
• The Wildcats limited NC State to 65 points, tied for their lowest-scoring effort of the season.
• NC State edged B-CU in the rebounding battle, 40-37
• The Wolfpack hurt B-CU in transition, notching 19 fast-break points in the game.
• The Wildcats had success in the paint, scoring 34 of 48 points by the rim.

After eight games and over a month of road trips and neutral-site games, the Wildcats will finally make their home debut next week. B-CU will take the floor at Moore Gymnasium for the first time since 2019 on Wednesday, Dec. 15 when they take on Johnson University (FL) at 7:05 p.m
