Bethune-Cookman takes to the road for its first Southwestern Athletic Conference road games this weekend, facing Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
The Wildcats (2-11 overall, 0-3 SWAC) are still looking for their first road victory of the season after seven non-conference setbacks as well as their first league win. B-CU is also trying to snap a six-game losing streak.
After Monday's game, B-CU will return home for conference games against Jackson State Jan. 22 and Alcorn State Jan. 24
B-CU UPDATE: The third quarter has not been kind to the Wildcats in the past two games…B-CU was outscored 44-9 in its two games last weekend against Grambling State and Southern. B-CU led by one against Grambling State and only trailed Southern by one after the respective halftimes before the third quarter downfalls. The Wildcats are averaging 57.4 ppg while surrendering 72.8.
STATS AND STUFF: Morgan Beacham leads B-CU in scoring at 10.5 ppg and is 18
th in the SWAC followed by
Taylor Williams at 9.7 ppg (23
rd).
Kayla Clark's average of 7.9 rebounds per game is fifth in the SWAC
Imani Reid is 12
th at 5.3.
ABOUT MVSU: The Delta Devilettes slipped to 1-12 (0-4 conference) after Monday's 100-66 loss to Texas Southern. Zakiya Mahoney is averaging 14.0 ppg followed by Mikalya Etienne with 12.7 ppg. Sarah Moore is the leading rebounding with 8.7 per game.
ABOUT UAPB: The Golden Lions (6-8,2-2) are on a two-game winning streak after road wins at Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M. Zaay Gray is averaging 14.8 ppg while Khadijah Brown is posting 8.8 rebounds a game.
