Wildcats Drop Low-Scoring Effort at Alabama A&M

Huntsville, Ala.  – Some offensive struggles proved too much for the Wildcats to overcome as they fell to Alabama A&M, 67-52, Monday night in Huntsville, Ala.

How It Happened

It was a quiet start to the first half for both teams. As the Wildcats (5-16, 3-6 SWAC) entered the first media timeout, they led only 2-1. B-CU led by as much as six in the half, but Alabama A&M (5-14, 4-5 SWAC) entered the break on a 9-0 run to take a 22-19 halftime lead. Both squads shot under 30 percent in the opening half.

The run continued for the Bulldogs as the second half opened, and their lead swelled to 30-21. Offense was much easier to come by in the second half for both teams, but the Bulldogs shot 63 percent from the field to sink the Wildcats. Alabama A&M led by as much as 18, and took the contest, 67-52.

Kevin Davis led the Wildcats with 16 points, followed by Joe French and Marcus Garret who each finished in double figures. Jon Brown made his first appearance of the season, scoring six on 2-3 shooting, plus a pair of rebounds, three assists, and a block in 24 minutes of play.
