The Wildcats return five players from a season ago, including the SWAC Preseason Player of the Year, Joe French. French was the third-best three-point shooter in all of college basketball a season ago.
 
Team captains a season ago, Marcus Garrett and Dylan Robertson also return, as well as explosive forward Kevin Davis and defensive menace Damani McEntire.
 
Joining the veterans is a thrilling group of newcomers, headlined by Zion Harmon, the highest-ranked recruit in program history.


The Wildcats will begin their quest towards the first SWAC tournament berth in program history after falling a game short a season ago on the final day of the regular season.
 
Scouting the Hawkeyes
 
The Wildcats will take on an Iowa team that finished 26-10 a season ago in the Big 10. The Hawkeyes took down Purdue, 75-66 to win the Big 10 Championship last march before falling to the Richmond Spiders in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Hawkeyes averaged 83.7 points per game last season on 47% shooting, including a 39% clip from three.
