Last Time Out
The Wildcats defense led the way in their first exhibition action of the season, as they held the Edward Waters to only 10 points in the second quarter en route to a halftime lead on Tuesday night. The effort continued into the second half, as EWU could only muster 11 points while the Wildcats took a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Freshman Guard D'Shantae Edwards finished with 16 points to lead the wildcats on 6-8 shooting. O'Mariyah Tucker provided a big boost on defense with nine rebounds and three steals to go along with 12 points. Chanel Wilson rounded out the trio of Wildcats in double-figures, chipping in ten points of her own.
Scouting the Seminoles
The Wildcats will take on a Florida State team that finished 17-14 overall a season ago, with an 11-4 record at home. The Seminoles were defeated in the second round of the ACC tournament last March.
The Seminoles won both of a pair of preseason exhibition contests in dominant fashion, taking down West Georgia 115-46, and Flagler 119-27.
Notes
- The Wildcats will play their first four games of the season in the Sunshine State, with two home games and a trip to Gainesville to follow Monday's contest.
- The Wildcats were defeated, 103-34 in their last matchup with the Seminoles back in 2014.
- This will be the first of two straight "Education Games" for the Wildcats, who will host their own at Moore Gymnasium this Thursday.
