Softball Drops Two At Orlando Spring Games

LEESBURG, Fla. – Facing Power Five opposition, Bethune-Cookman dropped both of its contests Saturday at the Orlando Spring Games.

Missouri downed the Wildcats 6-0 while Maryland posted an 11-3 decision.

The Tigers (8-2) got a no-hitter from pitcher Laurin Krings, who walked two and struck out eight.

B-CU had one scoring opportunity in the first when Joslynn Davis walked, Desirae Martinez reached on a throwing error and Jasmeen Rivera walked with one out, but Missouri kept the Wildcats on the bases to end the threat.

Maryland (3-5) jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead in the second game.

Bethune-Cookman scored a run in the third and two in the fifth.

Haley Parks, Martinez and  Briana Velazquez had hits for B-CU against Maryland, with Velazquez and Julissa Gomez posting RBI.

B-CU closes the weekend out against Butler Sunday at 9 a.m.
