DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman hosts Jackson State for a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series that will serve as the regular season finale, Senior Day and determining the Eastern Division champion.

First pitch for Friday's game is 2 p.m. with Saturday's doubleheader starting at noon. Senior Briana Paysinger will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony Saturday.

The Wildcats (20-24 overall, 14-7 SWAC) need one victory over the Tigers (21-22,12-9) to clinch the division and a No. 1 seed at next month's conference tournament.

 Jackson State won the series 2-1 when the teams met in Mississippi last month.

STATS: Freshman Hannah Ortega leads the SWAC with a 2.07 ERA … Halyne Gonzalez and Ortega are 3-4 in strikeouts (95 and 93) and 2-5 in wins (11 and eighth) … B-CU had an eight-game SWAC winning streak snapped last week at Alabama State … Joslynn Davis leads B-CU with a .264 average, followed by Essence Gibbs at .261 … Carrington Robinson has a eight-game hitting streak going … Davis has reached base the last eight games.

MORE HISTORY: One weekend at setting the B-CU all-time athletic program victory record with 468, Head Coach Laura Watten needs two wins to reach the 750 career victory plateau. Watten had 280 wins during her tenure at the University of Maryland.
