DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University Athletic Director Reggie Theus announces that George Bright has been named Deputy Athletic Director.
Bright, who will join B-CU on campus July 1, brings 30 years of administrative experience in intercollegiate athletics to the Wildcats. He served as Director of Athletics at Elizabeth City State University, and as Director of Athletics and Recreation at Moravian University. He also served at Lafayette College as the Associate Director of Athletics, at East Stroudsburg University as an adjunct instructor in Sports Management, and at South Carolina State University as the ticket manager and Executive Director of the STATE Club.
"I am honored and grateful to serve Bethune-Cookman University as the next Deputy Director of Athletics," Bright said. "I want to graciously thank Athletic Director Reggie Theus for this outstanding opportunity. "B-CU is committed to building a championship culture and providing a quality academic and athletic experience for its student athletes. I look forward to collaborating with coaches, colleagues and initiatives across campus and in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and becoming thoroughly immersed in the Daytona Beach community."
A graduate of the Sport Management Institute and the NCAA Leadership Institute, Bright earned a bachelor's degree from Claflin University and a master's degree from South Carolina State University.
