DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Wildcats are set for their first home weekend of Southwestern Athletic Conference play as they welcome in a pair of teams to Moore Gymnasium this weekend.
The Wildcats will take on the Mississippi Valley State on Saturday, Jan 13 at 4 p.m., followed by a matchup with Arkansas – Pine Bluff on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Wildcats dropped two contests last weekend in Louisiana, falling to Grambling State and Southern.
Zion Harmon dropped a season-high 36 points Monday night, the highest total by a Wildcat since 1995.
Scouting the Mississippi Valley State
Mississippi Valley State is 2-16 this season, and 1-3 in SWAC play. Last time out, MVSU defeated Texas Southern, 71-67.
The team is averaging 55.3 points per game and allowing 75.8.
Scouting the Lions
The Lions are 6-11 this season, including a 2-2 start to SWAC play. They are winners of back-to-back games at Texas Southern and PVAMU last weekend.
Shaun Doss Jr. leads the Lions with 16.2 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. Three different lions have 10 blocks on the season.
Notes
- Zion Harmon's 36 points at Southern is the most by a freshman in a game this season across all of college basketball.
- Harmons eight three-pointers made also marks the most by a freshman this season, and the second most in a game in B-CU program history.
- Harmon's 8-10 clip from behind the line is the second-best three-point percentage in a game by a freshman this season, and the third-best in program history (minimum seven attempts).
History
This will be the fifth ever meeting between the Wildcats and Mississippi Valley State. The Wildcats hold a 4-1 advantage all-time.
This will be the second meeting all-time between B-CU and Arkansas – Pine Bluff. The Wildcats dropped their only meeting a season ago, 69-63.
