DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The SWAC slate continues for the Wildcats this weekend as they travel to Mississippi to take on Jackson State and Alcorn State. B-CU is set to take on the Tigers on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m.; they will face the Braves on Monday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Wildcats split a pair of contests last weekend, taking down Mississippi Valley State, 77-71, before Arkansas – Pine Bluff returned the favor Monday night in another 77-71 decision.
Joe French scored 31 points in the victory Saturday.
Marcus Garrett led the efforts in Monday night's defeat, scoring 21.
Scouting The Tigers
Jackson State is 4-14 this season and 3-2 in SWAC play. The Tigers are losers of back-to-back games against Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.
Ken Evans Jr. leads the Tigers in scoring, averaging 12 points per game. He is one of four Tigers to average in double figures. Zeke Cook averages 6 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Braves
Alcorn State is 7-10 this season, including a 4-1 start to conference play. The Tigers are winners of four straight, including back-to-back overtime wins over Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M.
Dominic Brewton leads the Braves with 14.1 points per game. Jeremiah Kendall is averaging seven boards per game.
