Box Score GRAMBLING, La. – Chanel Wilson scored 18 points as Bethune-Cookman pulled away to a 63-46 Southwestern Athletic Conference victory over Grambling State Saturday afternoon.
Leading 42-38 after three quarter, the Wildcats (3-9 overall, 2-0 SWAC) started the fourth quarter on a 14-2 run to take a commanding 56-40 lead on a
Kayla Clark jumper with 4:57 remaining. Grambling (3-11,2-1) never got closer than 12 points after that.
Wilson made two-three pointers during the run, while White would finish six of her 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Wilson now has now scored 18 points or more in nine of her 12 games.
D'Shantae Edwards also scored 12 points for the Wildcats, who erased an early 16-11 deficit to take the lead in the second quarter. A 7-0 run gave B-CU a 32-25 halftime lead.
Nia Jordan added seven points and
Kayla White six.
B-CU faces Southern Monday night.
