Zion's Big Night Leads Wildcats Over Incarnate Word

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Zion Harmon's monster night saw Bethune-Cookman snap a three game losing streak, taking down Incarnate Word, 96-82,  Friday night at Moore Gymnasium.

Header How it Happened
The opening 20 minutes saw neither team lead by more than four points as Bethune-Cookman's (3-4, 0-0 SWAC) Dhashon Dyson's driving layup tied things up at 9-9 apiece.

Incarnate Word (3-3, 0-0 SLC) took its largest lead of the half at 19-15 on a Sky Wicks and-one, but the Wildcats quickly knotted things at 19-all on a Zion Harmon layup. Harmon tied things up again at 22-22 on a stepback three from nearly five feet behind the three-point arc. He finished the half with 19 points to lead all scorers as the Wildcats and Cardinals entered the break tied at 40.

A 20-10 run out of the half, ten of those from Harmon, put B-CU up, 60-50 with 12 left to play.

The Cardinals stabilized, pulling to within 71-64 on a floater by Elijah Davis before four straight from Seneca Willoughby pushed the Wildcats back up 11.

Incarnate Word threatened again with just over three minutes remaining, cutting the deficit to 79-72 on a made three from Dylan Hayman. Josiah Hammons layup with 2:36 to play put the Cardinals within 83-77.

From there, the Wildcats closed on a 12-7 run, capped off by a Damani McEntire steal, his seventh of the game, to seal the 96-82 win.
