DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Wildcats led wire-to-wire as they handily defeated Florida A&M 80-69, Saturday afternoon at Moore Gymnasium.
The win clinches a spot for B-CU in next week's SWAC tournament, to be held in Birmingham, Ala.
How It Happened
The Wildcats (11-17, 10-8 SWAC) started hot, jumping on the Rattlers (6-23, 4-14 SWAC) to a 27-11 first quarter lead. The Wildcats made 9-16 shots in the quarter with five threes to build the early lead.
The two teams entered the break with B-CU leading 47-29.FAMU out-scored the Wildcats by seven after the break, but it was not enough as the Wildcats held on for the convincing victory.
Chanel Wilson led the Wildcats with 22 points, followed by
Kayla Clark with 13.
On her senior Day,
Morgan Beacham chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Also celebrating her final collegiate game,
Tahisha Dossous made the start, scoring six with three rebounds, and two assists.

- The Wildcats scored 27 points off of turnovers.
- B-CU scored 18 points off the bench in the win.
- The Wildcats scored 34 points in the paint, and 15 points on the fast break.
- Five threes in the game for Chanel Wilson marks a season high by any Wildcat.

The Wildcats will depart for the Magic City first thing next week as they prepare for their first SWAC postseason appearance in program history. Tournament seedings will be finalized following the conclusion of today's contests around the league.
