Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Bethune-Cookman men's basketball saw its season end Wednesday at the hands of Grambling State, 87-72, Wednesday afternoon at Bartow Arena.
The B-CU offense scuffled to open the first half, as Grambling State jumped out to a 20-10 lead. Grambling State shot 5-8 from behind the line in the first twenty minutes as they pushed their lead to as much as 20 with four minutes remaining until halftime.
Kevin Davis led B-CU with eight points at the break on 4-8 shooting.
Dhashon Dyson provided a spark off the bench, scoring eight points of his own.
Grambling State entered halftime with a 47-27 lead.
The Wildcats hung tight through the second half, cutting the deficit to 15 with 10 minutes remaining, but struggled to make up ground, as the Tigers held on for the 87-72 victory.
Dyson led the B-CU effort on offense with 22 points on 8-19 shooting. Davis followed with 19 points.
Zion Harmon was the only other Wildcat in double figures – he had 12.
Davis and
Dylan Robertson each grabbed six boards for B-CU. Harmon and
Marcus Garrett each dished out five assists with a steal.
- The Wildcats were out-rebounded, 47-35
- B-CU made 12-17 free throw, Grambling State made 14-25.
- Grambling State recorded seven blocks to B-CU's zero.
- The Wildcats scored 28 points off the bench, Grambling State only scored nine.
