PINE BLUFF, Ark.-
Jakobi Heady tied his season-high of 25 points, but a strong second half listed lifted Arkansas - Pine Bluff over B-CU, Monday Night at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Bethune-Cookman (8-10, 3-2 SWAC) took early first-half leads at 5-0, 11-5, and 22-15, but Arkansas - Pine Bluff (8-10, 3-2 SWAC) tied things at 27 all 14 minutes into the half on a Rashad Williams three.Â
Reggie Ward Jr.'s free throw gave B-CU its largest lead of the first half at 37-29 before a Williams jumper made it a six-point game at the break.Â
UAPB came out of the half strong, tying things again at 43-43 on a Caleb Stokes layup. with 14 to play. The Golden Lions built a seven-point lead - their largest of the contest - on a three from Williams that made it 72-65 with two to play.Â
A 7-2 run saw B-CU cut it to two on a Heady layup with 11 seconds to play, but
Joe French drained both subsequent free throws to ice the contest at 76-72.Â

- Jakobi Heady led all scorers, tying his season high of 25 points, which he last scored against Trinity Baptist on Nov. 15
- Heady has scored in double figures in all but two games this season.
- DJ Carter Holllinger Jr. scored 14, while Seneca Willoughby scored 11.
- Reggie Ward Jr and Hollinger Jr. each grabbed eight boards.
- Both Willoughby and Dhashon Dyson dished out four assists.Â
- B-CU scored 15 second-chance points to UABP's 8.Â

Jackson State is up next for B-CU as the Wildcats return home to face the Tigers on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. at Moore Gymnasium.Â
