BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the fourth time this season,
Andrew Kiplagat has been named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as well as Newcomer of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
Andrew Kiplagat, a junior from Chebara, Kenya, turned in his third school-record setting time of the season with a mark of 23:49.9 - that bested his previous record by 18 seconds. That was good enough for second place finish at the event.
Kiplagat earns his fourth SWAC award of the campaign – and his fourth in as many races overall for the Wildcats after arriving from Jackson State over the summer.
The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season with a 2nd place men's finish at the Sand Shark Invitational last weekend.
Next up for B-CU is the 2025 SWAC Cross Country Championships, held on Monday, October 27 in Tallahassee.
