DAYTONA BEACH - Jakobi Heady scored a season-high 22 points as the Wildcats handily defeated South Carolina State, winning 80-59 at Moore Gymnasium.
1st Half
Bethune-Cookman (3-6) was able to get their offense back on track after struggling the last few games. In the first half, the Wildcats scored 43 points against South Carolina State (0-9), shooting 47.1% from the field and making six of their 11 three-point attempts.
Defensively, the Cats held the Bulldogs to 35.5% shooting and forced seven turnovers. SCSU was able to find success on the glass, winning the battle 22-18 and grabbing 10 offensive rebounds.
Jakobi Heady was the go-to guy for the Cats in the first half, scoring 18 points on a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.
The Wildcats had a 43-30 advantage at the break as they led for 16 of the 20 minutes in the half.
2nd Half
The Wildcats continued their strong offensive performance in the second half. They shot 51.9% from the floor and went 3-for-8 from beyond the arc.
B-CU did not allow the Bulldogs to get into any kind of rhythm, holding SCSU to 29% shooting and forcing seven more turnovers.
The Bulldogs were able to carry over their success on the boards into the second half, grabbing five more rebounds than B-CU including nine on the offensive end.
Ultimately, the Wildcats were able to maintain a comfortable advantage throughout, winning the game 80-59 in front of the Wildcat faithful.
- Jakobi Heady had a season-high 22 points on an efficient 8-of-10 from the floor. He also led the Wildcats with seven rebounds and added two assists and two steals.
- Arterio Morris picked up 17 points and five assists.
- Daniel Rouzan scored 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting.
- Christopher Parker led the Bulldogs with 14 points and eight rebounds.
- The Wildcats had 18 assists and just seven turnovers while forcing 14.

Bethune-Cookman will begin a four-game road trip starting with a game against Missouri on Sunday afternoon. The game begins at 2:00 p.m. EST
