HOUSTON - Career nights for
Kalil Camara and

FIRST HALF
B-CU's
Daniel Rouzan and
Kalil Camara each started strong out of the gate, scoring the first 13 points for B-CU as the Cats held an early 13-12 advantage over Texas Southern through the first six minutes of play.
A
Trey Thomas fastbreak layup after a
Jesus Carralero Martin made it a 22-15 lead for the Cats after 10 minutes of play before the Tigers regained the lead at 24-23 on a Kavion McClain layup.
The two sides traded buckets and leads until Duane Posey's jump shot made it a five-point Texas Southern lead at 32-27 with five minutes until the half. A Zaire Hayes three made it 37-31 with three minutes until the half.
A Carralero Martin dunk,
David Onanina paint jumper, and a
Seneca Willoughby layup, and Thomas three made it nine straight for B-CU to go up three, a lead they would hold going into the break at 42-39.
SECOND HALF
A smooth eurostep by
Trey Thomas made it 52-49 through the first five minutes of the second half. B-CU made that a six point lead at 57-51 on another Thomas layup.
Just under the ten-minute mark, Rouzan made it an eight-point game with a driving layup to cross the 20-point mark for the first time in his career.
The Tigers continued to hang around, finally bringing the deficit down to 69-66 on a Jaylin Jackson-Posey driving layup with five minutes remaining. That deficit fell down to just one on a Hayes layup that made it 71-70.
Texas Southern took its first lead of the second half at 77-76 on a Jackson-Posey layup before Willoughby answered with a stepback jumper on the other end - one that would eventually be the game-winner.
A B-CU free throw miss put the one-point lead in jeopardy, but a Tigers turnover shortly after an inbounds pass with under ten seconds to play was the dagger as Carralero Martin put the game away at the charity stripe, 80-79.
