Joyce Bloome, a senior outfielder from Norristown, Pennsylvania, finished fourth overall in stolen bases at last weekend's Mary Nutter Classic in California. She ended the weekend with a perfect 4-for-4 on the base path.
â–ª Junior left fielder
Emma Bradley-Tse is riding a four-game hitting streak, sitting one shy of her season-high of five set heading into the Mary Nutter Classic a week ago.
â–ª
Kendall Macauley, a senior infielder, enters the MIH Games having reached base safely in seven consecutive games, including powering out her first home run of the season a week ago versus Nevada.
â–ª Bethune-Cookman uses a .958 fielding average on the campaign, with two Cats (
Maria Galvan & Bradley-Tse) owning a perfect mark while also owning at least 10 putouts.
â–ª The Wildcats have already swiped 27 bases in 30 total attempts.
â–ª As a team, the Cats are just 2-12 on the season when the opponent scores first. However, they are 3-0 when leading after the fourth inning.
â–ª Senior centerfielder
Joslynn Davis leads the squad with three (3) multi-hit performances, followed by
India Stokes and Bradley-Tse with two each.
â–ª B-CU comes into the MIH Games looking to snap a six-game losing skid dating back to the finale of the Hatter Classic against host Stetson.
â–ª Despite dropping the first four games of the 2024 THE Spring Games (now MIH Games), the Cats battled back to defeat Southern Indiana 4-1 on the final day of the three-day event.
â–ª With four wins on the season despite having played the toughest nonconference schedule in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), it's the first time since 2022 the Cats have captured at least four wins to this point in a season.
Â
â–ª Bethune-Cookman leads the series with Butler by a 2-1 count, as the Wildcats have won each of the last two meetings, respectfully.
â–ª The last time B-CU and Butler met, the Cats claimed a 5-3 decision in Leesburg, Florida on Feb. 20, 2022.
â–ª UAlbany owns a slim 2-1 lead in the all-time series against B-CU, with all three games having taken place in DeLand, Florida.
â–ª The Great Danes and Cats each won one and lost one in the 2010 edition of the Hatter Classic hosted by Stetson.
â–ª B-CU and Binghamton have met just once on the diamond, and it was the Cats taking a 2-1 win in Clearwater, Florida back on March 2, 2019.
â–ª B-CU has never faced off against Bellarmine in softball prior to this weekend's scheduled matchup against the Knights.

HEAD COACH LAURA WATTEN
"We missed this event last year when it was named THE Spring Games. It's good to come back to Madeira Beach and the newly formed MIH Games. This is a tricky park, and the wind shifts off the water throughout the day. So, you have to be prepared to change your approach pitching-wise as well as hitting, depending on if it's early or late in the day."
Â
"The coaching staff, collectively, we were happy with a number of things we saw last weekend in California. The field at the Mary Nutter Classic gets tougher and tougher each and every year. But I thought we did some good things, and as a staff, we made sure to remind the team of those positives as we keep working to improve before beginning SWAC play."
Â
"We have several newcomers working to get more playing time, and some returning players trying to solidify their reason for deserving more time as well. It's a good thing to have so many players wanting to play, and actually – many of them probably deserving more time with their recent form. It's just a huge positive having so many players want to step up and perform when their number is called."
Â
"This is it. SWAC play starts next weekend. So, we have to use this weekend to fine tune some things and try to keep getting better because the games are coming thick and fast from now on. The schedule didn't start easy, and it won't get easy either – not with four really good teams this weekend. And certainly not after that next weekend in Mississippi and beyond."
