BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second time in as many weeks,
Andrew Kiplagat has neem named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Cross Country Runner and Newcomer of the Week announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
Andrew Kiplagat, a 5-foot-7 junior from Chebara, Kenya, picked up his second win of the season last weekend during the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic where he registered a time of 25:34.2 overall. Kiplagat, a transfer from Jackson State, was almost 30 seconds ahead of second place finisher Nick Scarangelli (26:06.8) of ERAU.
As a team, B-CU finished with 114 points, and tallied a fourth place finish.
Bethune-Cookman returns to action Friday, Sept. 26, traveling to Tallahassee, Florida for the Seminole Invitational hosted by Florida State.
