Wildcats Hit the Road to Face MVSU, UAPB

ITTA BENA, Miss. - Bethune-Cookman is back on the road for the first time in nearly a month for matchups against Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas - Pine Bluff. The action versus MVSU begins Saturday at 6 p.m EST while the game against UAPB will tipoff Monday at 6:30 p.m. EST.

List Time Out Header 1st Half
Bethune-Cookman got off to a dominant start against Southern, starting the game on a 12-1 run. Tyler Andrews made two three-pointers, while the defense did not allow a field goal until the 17:15 mark.

Southern slowly clawed their way back into the game, eventually taking the lead 24-23 with 9:04 remaining.

The remainder of the half was dominated by B-CU. They outscored the Jaguars 21-12 the rest of the way. The Wildcats shot 50% in the half, while holding Southern to just 32.4%.

2nd Half
Doctor Bradley made a free-throw with 13:40 to give the Wildcats their largest lead of the night, 55-44, but B-CU could not put the Jaguars away. Southern was successful in making the B-CU offense uncomfortable, while building momentum on the offensive end.

As a team, the Jaguars picked up eight steals in the second half, They also collected 10 offensive rebounds leading to 21 second chance points.

Michael Jacobs gave Southern the lead with 5:52 left. Arterio Morris would then tie the game with 3:01, but the Jaguars made winning plays down the stretch to complete the comeback. 

B-CU made just 10 field goals in the second half while shooting 14.3% (1-or-7) from three point range.

Scouting the Opponent In-Story Header
Mississippi Valley State
The Delta Devils are 1-17 on the season and are winless thus far in conference play. They are currently on a 16-game losing streak dating back to November.

MVSU was missing their top three scorers during their recent loss to Texas Southern. Michael James currently leads the team at 19.9 points per game, good for 35th in the country.

Arkansas - Pine Bluff
The Golden Lions are 3-1 thus far in SWAC play, recently suffering their first conference loss at Prairie View. They are undefeated (4-0) at home this season.

UAPB has four players scoring in double figures per game this season. They are led by senior Quion Williams who is averaging 17.1 points per game. 

Pine Bluff has found success from three-point range in conference play, shooting over 40% on 84 attempts. On the flip side, they are holding their opponents to just 28% shooting from beyond the arc.

The Wildcats are 7-1 all-time against the Delta Devils, having won the previous seven matchups in a row.

B-CU has faced UAPB just four times, defeating the Golden Lions for the first time last season.
