Cats Roll Past Mississippi Valley State

ITTA BENA, Miss. - Jakobi Heady scored 23 points, including 19 in the second half, as the Wildcats cruised to a 79-63 win over Mississippi Valley State at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
Header How it Happened
1st Half
Bethune-Cookman (6-11, 3-1) built a sizable lead early on in the first, holding Mississippi Valley State (1-18, 0-5) to just seven points in the first eight minutes.

Tyler Andrew hit a three-pointer with 9:44 remaining to give the Wildcats an 11-point lead, their largest of the half. The Devils responded with a 10-0 run to get within one.

An emphatic dunk by Daniel Rouzan put the Cats back up by seven, but the Devils would stay within striking distance, cutting the lead to four heading into halftime.

Tyler Andrews led B-CU with 16 first-half points, including three three-pointers made. Michael James finished with 14 points for MVSU.

2nd Half
The Delta Devils grabbed their first lead of the game at the 16:39 mark following a made free-throw by Michael James. B-CU struggled offensively to begin the half, enduring a three-minute stretch without a made field goal.

Seneca Willoughby broke the ice with a three-pointer, giving the Wildcats the lead back for good with 15:39 left.

Jakobi Heady proved to be unstoppable in the second half, scoring 19 points and missing just one shot.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 68% in the second, while holding the Delta Devils to 38% shooting, leading to a 79-63 victory. Notes & Stats In-Story Header
