DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - B-CU heads back home for a couple of key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchups against Alcorn State and Jackson State at Moore Gymnasium.

List Time Out Header
1st Quarter
Mississippi Valley State built a slight lead over Bethune-Cookman despite both teams struggling offensively.

The Wildcats were held to just 11 points, and they struggled to rebound the basketball. The Delta Devils picked up six offensive rebounds, leading to a five point lead despite shooting just 37.5%.

2nd Quarter
Defense continued to dominate the game in the second as both teams scored just 11 points in the quarter.

The Wildcats held the Delta Devils to just two made field goals but could not take advantage on the other end of the floor. MVSU led 27-22 at the half.

3rd Quarter
The Wildcats put up their best offensive quarter in the third, scoring 21 points. They found success getting to the free-throw line and converting on those opportunities, shooting 8-for-10 from the line.

Keira Gregory gave B-CU the lead back with 1:29 left, and they held a narrow two-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

4th Quarter
B-CU increased the lead to five with 5:59 following a Tyler Butler layup. But the Delta Devils would dominate the remainder of the game, finishing on a 17-3 run.

The Wildcats were held to just three-made field goals and were outrebounded 10-4.

The final score was 64-55 in favor of the Delta Devils.

Scouting the Opponent In-Story Header
Alcorn State
The Alcorn State Braves are 7-9 on the season and are currently in a three-wway tie for the top record in the SWAC at 4-1. They are coming off a 66-51 home victory over Texas Southern.

The leading scorer for the Braves is graduate guard/forward Nakia Cheatham. She is averaging 12.6 points while also leading the team in rebounds, steals, and blocks. In her last outing, Cheatham finished with a double-double collecting 15 points and 12 rebounds while leading her team to a victory.

As a team, Alcorn ranks 351st out of 359 teams in scoring offense. They have been strong at depending the three-point lline, holding opponents to 28% shooting from beyond the arc.

Jackson State
JSU is 4-13 and have begun 2-3 in conference play. Most recently, they cruised to a home win over Prairie View A&M 62-43.

The Tigers are led in scoring by Rhema Pegues, who is scoring 11.0 points per contest. Leianya Massenat is just behind her at 10.8 points per game.

Jackson State is an excellent three-point shooting team, ranking 122nd in the country shooting 6.5 attempts per game. The Tigers rank last in the country in blocks per game.

B-CU and Alcorn State have met seven times. The Braves have the narrow edge, having won four of those games.

JSU have never lost to the Wildcats in their history (8-0).
