DAYTONA BEACH - B-CU will close out an action-packed week in Daytona Beach with a matchup against the Grambling State Tigers at Moore Gymnasium beginning at 3 p.m. EST.

1st Quarter
Southern (7-7, 3-0) was dominant defensively against Bethune-Cookman (3-12, 1-1) in the first, holding the Wildcats to just seven points.
The Jaguars attempted six more field goals than B-CU thanks to five offensive rebounds and four steals, using this advantage to build a six point lead despite shooting just 21.4% from the floor.
2nd Quarter
Southern once again dominated the possession battle, finishing with 20 shot attempts in the second compared to 14 for B-CU.
The Wildcats made two three-pointers, but otherwise struggled to generate an offensive rhythm. The Jaguars held an 11-point lead at the half.
3rd Quarter
Bethune-Cookman shot 62.5% from the field but only had eight shot attempts in the third.
Southern shot 53.3% and had seven more shot attempts than the Wildcats. They forced eight B-CU turnovers, leading to a 16-point fourth quarter advantage.
4th Quarter
The Wildcats scored 20 points in the quarter and were able to cut the lead down to eight. But the Jaguars were able to hold on for the 61-50 win.

The Tigers have compiled a 4-12 record and have gotten off to a 1-2 start in SWAC play. Most recently, Grambling fell in Tallahassee to Florida A&M, 59-55.
Grambling's leading scorer is junior Monica Marsh. The 5-foot-5 shooting guard is averaging 11.7 points on .318/.260/.800 shooting splits. She also leads the Tigers in steals with 31.
Shaniah Nunn is scoring 11 points per game and is GSU's leading rebounder, averaging 7.4 per contest.
The Tigers have been stellar at winning the turnover battle this season. They rank 74th in the nation in turnover margin and sit 44th in steals (11.0 per game).

Saturday will be the 11th all-time meeting between Bethune-Cookman and Grambling State. The Tigers hold the edge in the series 7-3.
