BEAUFORT, S.C. – Bethune-Cookman cross country returns to action this Saturday as they are set to participate in the 19th Annual Sandshark Invitational. The event, which takes place at the Sergeant Jasper County Park, begins at 8:45 a.m.

Andrew Kiplagat put together another outstanding performance Friday morning as Bethune-Cookman completed its second cross country meet of the season at the Florida State Pre Regional.
The junior out of Chebara, Kenya finished with a time of 24:36.8, good for fourth place overall out of a field of over 200 runners.
Jayden Santos-Gonzales also continued his excellent start to the season. His 25:18.3 mark earned his 24th overall, his second top 25 finish of the year.
The men finished 13th out of 23 teams, earning a better score than fellow Division I programs FIU, Florida Atlantic, and Jacksonville.
On the women's side,
Lisel Ndlovu earned her second top 100 finish of the season, collecting a time of 23:38.3 to lead the Wildcats. Overall, the women grabbed 21st out of 28 teams.
This is the Wildcats' second consecutive appearance at the Sandshark Invitational. Last season, Andew Kiplagat set another school record with a time of 23:49.9 and placed second place overall in the field.
The men finished second overall last year, while the women placed sixth.
The course begins and finishes at the Hardeeville School Complex while traversing through Sergeant Jasper Park and the Cooler Property. The course, which played host to the 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2016 Sun Conference Championships, is flat and on grass and trails except for road crossings.
