DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman fell 7-1 to North Dakota State in its home opener at Sunnyland Park.

B-CU looked to even up the score in the bottom of the frame, with
Emma Bradley-Tse reaching on a single. But she would be caught attempting to steal second base.
Janel Morrisey also reached first base via the walk but was also thrown out at second, ending the the threat.
The Bison would add three more runs in the second, taking advantage of a B-CU error to take a 4-0 lead.
The Wildcats were able to get on the board on a NDSU error and looked to add more with the bases loaded. But starter Madison Wihlm picked of a strikeout to end the frame.
The Bison would put together a three-run inning in the fourth, taking a 7-1 lead that it would never relinquish.
Aimi Tohara-Yshiki pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, but B-CU could not get anything going offensively.

The Wildcats head to Leesburg to participate in THE Spring Games. The Cats are set to take on the LIU Sharks in its first matchup, beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
