DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After a three-game sweep in their SWAC opener, the Wildcats look to ride that momentum into this weekend's series with Alabama State at Sunnyland Park. The battle of undefeated teams begins tomorrow at 5 p.m, with a double-header Saturday to close out the series.

North Florida (25-5) broke through in the second when Grace Shaw delivered a two-run single through the right side, scoring Hannah Davila and Ayden Allen for a 2-0 lead.
Bethune-Cookman (7-18) answered in the fourth. Janel Morrisey walked and moved to third on a hit-by-pitch and a sacrifice bunt before scoring on an RBI groundout by Alana Cypress to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Ospreys responded in the bottom half of the inning. Kalyn McCarthy doubled down the left-field line, stole third and came home on a Bethune-Cookman fielding error to extend the lead to 3-1.
The Wildcats couldn't get anything going offensively the rest of the game. Bethune-Cookman was held to just three hits, with singles from Morrisey, Alyssa Gonzalez and Emma Bradley-Tse.
North Florida finished with 10 hits, including three from Allen and three from Addie Keef. McCarthy also had a double for the Ospreys.
Kate Peters (6-1) earned the win for the Ospreys in relief, tossing 3⅔ hitless innings while walking three and striking out one. Starter Taylor Cook allowed one run on three hits in 3⅓ innings.
Mia Gonzalez (4-9) took the loss after allowing three runs on nine hits in four innings. Sofia Vallejos-Coleman worked two scoreless innings in relief.
The Alabama State Hornets are 9-17 overall this season. They are off to a 3-0 start in SWAC play after a road sweep of Mississippi Valley State. This moved their road record to 3-5 after an 0-5 start.
The Hornets are hitting .289 as a team and are scoring around five runs per game. They rank first in the SWAC in triples with 15 and are fifth in home runs with 12.
Sophomore Talee Sims is the team's leader in doubles (5) and RBI (23) while senior Alana Scott leads the squad in batting average (.355).
ASU's pitching staff has collected an 8.31 ERA in 26 games. They have recorded more walks (107) than strikeouts (81) and are allowing a .354 batting average.
RHP Kohana Poussan tops the Alabama State rotation. She is 4-4 with a 5.15 ERA, managing 39 strikeouts to 23 walks.
Bethune-Cookman holds the slight edge over the Hornets in the all-time series 15-12. However, Alabama State has won the previous six meetings.
