BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the softball regular season coming to a close over the weekend, B-CU catcher Jasmine Mañebo received recognition as SWAC Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Wildcats finish the season with four total weekly awards, and this is the first for the freshman Mañebo.

In a series sweep over Alabama A&M, Mañebo was an unstoppable force at the plate. She finished 6-for-7 in the three games while hitting her second home run of the season.

Bethune-Cookman now turns its attention to the SWAC Tournament, which begins on May 5th at the Gulfport Sport Complex in Gulfport, Mississippi.
