JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Wildcats will undergo one final tune up before the SWAC championships as they compete in the East Coast Relays at Hodges Stadium. The event begins at 2 p.m. Friday with the men's hammer throw, men's pole vault, and women's long jump.

 Kasie Ugeh was the star once again as B-CU Track & Field split duties at the ERAU Blue & Gold Invite in Daytona Beach and the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic in Orangeburg.

Ugeh followed up on a record-breaking performance a week ago with another record finish, this time setting a program mark in the javelin with a 41.97m toss, good for a second-place finish. 

Also excelling in the field for the cats was Raziyah Ware, who led the shot put with a 11.39m first-place throw. She also finished second in the hammer with a throw of 42.70m.

On the track, Quiandra Brown finished atop the leaderboard in the 100 meters with a time of 11.97, while Kavay Johnson's 1:01.27 was good for second in the 400 meter hurdles. The women's 4x400 relay team of Harvey, Jean, Johnson, and Grant took first with a time of 3:49.19.

For the men, Ashton Matthews finished second in the high jump with a 2.00m, while Christian Dozier's 6.72m long jump landed him in third. 

Majet Bethely was excellent on the track, winning the 5000 meter with a time of 16:55.18


MEET INFORMATION HEADER

The 2026 East Coast Relays, hosted by Run For The Culture Inc., will take place May 1–2 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. The World Athletics-sanctioned meet will feature a full slate of running and field events across two days of competition.

The meet will be contested on a nine-lane, all-weather surface with fully automatic timing provided by FinishLynx and results managed through Hy-Tek Meet Manager. Competition is open primarily to collegiate programs, with unattached athletes also eligible to participate.

Live results, heat sheets, and meet updates will be available throughout the weekend via Half-Mile Timing.
