Wildcats of the Week: April 27- May 3

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla - There are only a few weeks left in this spring semester and for our sports still competing, two of the standout Wildcats, Soukaina Davis and Jose Fernandez, have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of April 27-May 3, 2026. 

Soukaina Davis, a Freshman on the Track and Field team, boasted a new PR in Jacksonville at the East Coast Relays event hosted by the University of North Florida. She competed in the High Jump event with a new personal record marking 1.63m (5'4.25"). Up next for Track and Field, is the SWAC Outdoor Championships this coming weekend.

Jose Fernandez went on a tear this weekend against Arkansas Pine-Bluff out at the Ormong Beach Sports Complex. The first baseman is now in double digits in home runs hit, hitting three on the weekend, ten total. He recorded eight RBI as well as one walk. He has now notched at least one hit in the last 14 games.

Each week, the Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
