THIRD TEAM ALL MEAC (2015-16)
REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON (2015-2016): Appeared and started all 31 games, averaging 9.5 points and 3.8 rebounds...Finished 3rd in the MEAC in three-point shooting percentage (.371)...Registered three double-doubles, including 15 points and 10 rebounds against South Carolina State at MEAC tournament, 13 double-figure scoring games and five double-figure rebounding games...Four games with 20 points or more, including consecutive 23-points vs. UMES on 1/23/16 and Howard 1/25 for her career-highs...Sank 13 free throws against Western Carolina and Florida Atlantic, also had career-high six steals.
JUNIOR SEASON (2014-15): Redshirt.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013-14): Was the only player to start all 30 games, averaging 26.7 minutes as a combo guard/forward...Averaged 6.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest, while adding 20 assists and 19 steals...Ranked fourth among B-CU scorers in 2013-14...Scored a career-high 22 points in the victory over Delaware State (2/15), hitting 7-for-10 from the field, including three from the perimeter, in addition to a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line...Grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the MEAC Quarterfinal matchup with North Carolina A&T (3/12), also collecting nine (9) boards in each of the meetings with Florida A&M (2/22 and 3/6)...Collected a career-best three steals against two opponents, St. Thomas (11/14) and Howard (1/27)...Scored in double-digits in eight (8) games in her second year, including four of the final six contests.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2012-13): Played in all 29 games of her inaugural season with the Lady Wildcats, starting in 11 as a combination guard/forward, including her first NCAA game, versus Trinity Baptist (11/9), playing 20 minutes with two (2) steals and two (2) rebounds...Playing 14.2 minutes per outing, Houston averaged 2.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.5 steals per game...She scored a career-high eight (8) points against Ball State (11/23), shooting lights out from the free throw line, a perfect 4-for-4...She logged a career-best five (5) rebounds against Maryland Eastern Shore (1/28) while also shooting .400 beyond the arc...Houston tallied two (2) steals in three games, and a pair of blocks in two more, outputting a career-best three (3) assists in the second win over Savannah State (2/25).
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered all four years of her basketball career for the Millbrook High School Wildcats, first under Pina Baker then under Chris East, helping to lead MHS to three straight Cap 8 Conference Championships, District and Regional Championships, falling in the State title game as a junior, wrapping up her MHS career with the school's first State Title as a senior...averaged seven (7) points per game as a junior, earning All-Conference recognition...in her final season, she was awarded the Tom Suiter Extra Effort Award (1/10/12) by WRAL-TV in Raleigh...was again named All-Conference for her season performance...also played in the NCCA East-West All-Star Game as a senior, scoring seven (7) points.
PERSONAL: Born April 29, 1994 in Raleigh, N.C. to Wendy and Bobby Houston...her father, Bobby, played football at North Carolina State and later playing nine seasons in the NFL, beginning with the Minnesota Vikings and later six seasons with the New York Jets...was a member of the Millbrook Honor Roll all four years of high school and also participated in DECA...was also recruited by Norfolk State, Georgia State and West Virginia, but chose B-CU because she "loved the coaches here and the direction the program was going"...has her goals set on leading the team in assists and shooting...cites her father as her greatest athletic influence, saying "I've always looked up to him since he's been through all levels of athletics. He always told me to make sure I have fun no matter what, and I've kept that with me to this day"...Notes Kevin Durant as her favorite athlete for his work ethic and that he always proves doubters wrong...Houston is majoring in Business with a concentration in Marketing at Bethune-Cookman and plans to use her degree to become a marketing agent for Nike or Adidas.
