JUNIOR SEASON (2019): 
Appeared in 39 games, starting 37 before suffering season-ending injury...Was batting .333 overall at time of injury ...Was 8-19 (.421) from the plate in five conference games...Ten multi-game hits...Had a nine-game hitting streak...Broke out of a 2-37 season opening slump to register three hits against Incarnate Word and
two against Middle Tennessee State on 3/1...Went 2-3 in win against Binghamton...Had a 6-8 day in doubleheader sweep of Mount St. Mary's; Went 4-4 with two runs scored in opener, then folLowed with two runs in nightcap ...Went 3-5 with three runs scores in Savannah State season finale...Was 3-4 in final appearance of season vs. South Carolina State

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018): Selected to the All-MEAC First Team… Played in all 57 games on the year, primarily at the shortstop position on the field, while making a start in 54 of those contests… Concluded her sophomore season eighth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in hits with 54… Ended the year tied for sixth in the league in runs scored (38)… Placed eighth in the conference in stolen bases with 21 steals in 25 attempts… Finished third on the Maroon and Gold roster with a .340 batting average… Used a .352 slugging percentage courtesy two (2) doubles… Batted in 13 runs… Walked 12 times with 19 strikeouts in 159 official at-bats, making her the second-toughest player to strikeout on the team… Recorded a .390 on-base percentage… Fielded at a .930 clip with 106 putouts and a team-high 120 assists… Went a stretch of 11 consecutive games to begin the year without a fielding error… Bagged a pair of hits in three at-bats with two RBIs and a stolen base, adding a putout and two assists against Quinnipiac (Feb. 17)… Produced a perfect 4-for-4 outing at the plate with a run scored, a putout on defense and an assist against Drexel (March 4)… Picked up a 2-for-3 day at the dish against South Dakota State (March 9) with her first double of the season, as well as three putouts and three assists… Used a 2-for-3 showing at the dish with a run scored and a run driven in during the first game of a doubleheader at North Florida (March 21), adding four putouts and five assists in the field… Produced a 2-for-4 effort with a run scored and two RBIs, adding her second double of the campaign with a season-best six assists and four putouts in the first game of a doubleheader at North Carolina A&T (March 30)… Bagged three hits in four at-bats with two runs scored, a putout on defense and five assists in the second game of a home doubleheader to North Carolina Central (April 7)… Was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the series finale – a home victory for the Wildcats, against North Carolina Central (April 8) with four putouts and two assists… Tallied a 2-for-3 afternoon with two runs scored and a walk, tallying a pair of putouts as well in the series finale and eventual series sweep at South Carolina State (April 15)… Had the first of back-to-back three-hit performances in the second game of a doubleheader against Florida A&M (April 28)… Had a 3-for-5 effort in that game against the Rattlers with three runs scored and a double… Followed that with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish with a run scored, two putouts and two assists in the series finale against FAMU (April 29)… Took a 3-for-4 outing with four runs scored and a run driven in during the MEAC title game against Florida A&M (May 12)…
 
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017): Played in 50 games during her freshman campaign, making a start in 35 of those contests… Started the year at third base before moving to second base and seeing time at shortstop… Batted .200 on the year with 17 hits in 85 at-bats… Produced 17 runs and batted in one more… Had a .200 slugging percentage… Swiped 10 bases in 12 attempts, laying down five sacrifice hits as well… Tallied a .919 fielding percentage with 41 putouts and 73 assists on the season… Registered a 2-for-3 performance with a stolen base against North Carolina State (Feb. 10)… Began a five-game hitting streak against George Washington (Feb. 18), extending through a game against Texas (Feb. 24)… Was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an assist on defense against LSU (Feb. 23)… Went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base against South Dakota (March 4)… Used a 1-for-3 afternoon with a RBI, two putouts and two assists in the series finale at Savannah State (March 26)… Likewise, was 1-for-3 at the dish with two putouts and three assists in the series finale against Florida A&M (April 30)… Collected a 1-for-3 effort at the plate with two putouts in the field as well as six assists in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament contest against Florida A&M (May 12)…
 
HIGH SCHOOL (Burlington Edison):  Prepped under head coach Darcy Taylor… Played shortstop in high school… Registered a .436 batting average in 2016… Scored 20 runs while posting 22 RBIs… Powered out three home runs on the year… As a junior, batted .442 on the year with 23 runs scored and three home runs… Selected first team all-county in 2014… Also named second team all-league as a sophomore in 2014… Named to the GHSL First Team as a freshman… WIAA State 2-A second place member for her squad that same year… First team academic all-conference as a freshman… Lettered four years in varsity soccer… Played three years of varsity basketball as well… National Honor Society member four years in high school… Received the National Society of High School Scholars Award…
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Jacki Taylor Smith… Majoring in Business Administration… Has two younger sisters – Brandy and Jordyn… Favorite sports teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Mariners… Favorite movies include John Tucker Must Die and Step Brothers… Favorite music artist is Thomas Rhett… Says her most prized possession is her dog because he’s her best friend… Chose to attend Bethune-Cookman because to fulfill my dream of playing Division I softball while furthering her education… First impression of BCU was that everyone was nice and welcoming like a family… Lists her favorite sports memory as when she cleared the bases with a two-out standup double in the bottom of the seventh inning in the state tournament her freshman year…
