2016 – Junior Season
Saw action in 13 games out of the bullpen for the Wildcats in his first season playing in the Maroon and Gold… Registered an ERA of 7.84 on the campaign… Worked 10.1 innings, usually in setup and situational areas… Fanned eight batters on the season… Toed the rubber for the first time in a 3-2 B-CU decision over Murray State (Feb. 21), working 0.2 innings and not allowing a hit in the process… Came out of the bullpen to toss a season-long 3.1 innings, fanning a season-best three batters and allowing a single run on three hits at Ohio State (April 2)… Fanned a pair of batters in an inning of action and allowing a single hit at USF (April 19)… Had a strikeout and failed to allow a hit in 1.1 innings during a 2-1 victory over North Carolina Central (April 23) in the first game of a doubleheader against the Eagles…

Played high school baseball at Aloha High School in his home town of Aloha, Oregon… Four-year letterwinner in baseball, including three years as a starter… Served as a starting pitcher and centerfielder… Says his best pitching performance as a senior came in the first round of the Oregon State playoffs, where he pitched six innings, allowing two hits and struck-out seven with no walks allowed against the 10th-ranked team in the state…  Finished his senior year with a 3-2 record on the mound, tallying a 3.5 ERA with a .390 batting average and three home runs… Second team Metro League all-league pitcher and outfielder…Batted .396 as a junior, adding four home runs… On the mound, garnered a 3-0 record… Second Team all-conference performer as an outfielder and pitcher… Also lettered in football and track & field… First-ever state championship came in football, winning the state title with a 34-13 score… Served as starting quarterback and team captain his senior year, going 7-0 until a season-ending injury…

Born on February 2, 1995, to parents Don and Amy Eytel… Has two siblings – Chelsea (24) and Cassidy (16)… Says he wants to become a CEO one day after his baseball career is finished… Majoring in Finance at Bethune-Cookman University… Nickname is “C.J.”… Enjoys playing football, basketball and golfing… Was an Honor Roll student every year in high school… Member of the National Honor Society, ASB Communications chair and Salutatorian… Chose to attend Bethune-Cookman because of the great baseball tradition that has been built throughout the years… Lists his favorite sports memory as defeating Jesuit his sophomore year for the first time in more than 20 years, allowing his team to claim the Metro League title… Says Peyton Manning is his favorite sports figure because of the way he’s gone about his career and accomplishes all that he has the right way… Favorite sports team is Minnesota Twins… Favorite movie is Friday Night Lights… Favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother… Zac Brown Band is his favorite musical group… Most prized possession is a Roger Federer signed tennis ball…
