Junior Year - 2013
Started 50-of-52 games for the Wildcats at shortstop...Led the team and ranked third in the MEAC with 143 assists, in addition to 93 putouts, contributing on 24 double plays...Batted .234 while matching Matt Noble for a team second-best 13 doubles...Logged 10 multi-hit games, topped by a three-hit performance at North Carolina A&T (3/17) and two doubles at FIU (4/16)...Tallied a pair of RBI in three games...Made a career-best eight assists and five putouts in a 14-inning affair at North Florida (3/26)

Junior College
Played two seasons at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona under Victor Solis, aiding the Pumas to records of 36-24 (2011) and 25-31...Winner of the 2012 Rawlings Gold Glove Award at shortstop, awarded in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)...As a sophomore, McCarty posted a .975 fielding percentage in 41 games, with just five errors and a team-high 123 assists (209 career), in addition to 71 putouts (108 career)...Registered a 75 percent stolen base percentage, finishing his junior college career with 50 hits, including three doubles, three triples, 18 RBI and a .285 on-base percentage in the wood-bat Arizona Community College Athletic Conference...Also played in the 2012 Junior College All-Star Game

Was a member of two consecutive Arizona 4A II State Championship teams at Mingus Union High School (2008-09), playing shortstop for the Marauders under Coach Bob Young, aiding MUHS to a record of 57-9 during the championship seasons...As a junior, he batted .471 with 15 doubles and 25 RBI...Earned 2008 and 2009 All-Arizona honors, and was named MVP of the Arizona High School All-Star Game...Also pitched in high school with a fastball nearing 90 mph and a notable curve ball
