Bethune-Cookman University Athletic Director/Men’s Basketball Coach Reggie Theus announced the appointment of Ross Rix as a men’s assistant basketball coach in August 2021.
Prior to B-CU, Rix spent one season at Louisiana College after two years at Western Kentucky, where he completed his Master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Administration.
Before deciding to go for his master’s, Rix had established himself in the Louisiana high school ranks with stints at Northwest High in Opelousas, Catholic High in New Iberia where he posted a 35-21 record, a season at Jennings High School where his team posted a 17-14 record mark before rounding out his high school coaching days at Northside High in Lafayette, where he spent four seasons and led the Vikings to a spot in the state quarterfinals in 2018.
Rix started his coaching career as a student assistant on the staff at the University of Louisiana – Lafayette while receiving his Bachelor’s degree.
