Prior to Bethune-Cookman, Johnson aided as a softball skills coach for West Lake H.S. and Team Elite in Lithonia, Georiga, where she instructed skill camps throughout the year to help high school, recreation, and travel ball teams become fundamentally sound, targeting pitchers and catchers.
In 2011 Johnson served as the pitching coach at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi where the Devilettes finished 34-19 overall and 16-0 in the SWAC, earning a NCAA bid. She also monitored the team academic progress and assisted with the recruiting process.
During the 2010 season Johnson was named a student assistant prior to her playing career at Georgia Tech, assisting scouting reports, equipment logistics and camps/clinics.Â
As a collegian, Johnson earned All-Region honors during her senior season (2009) at Georgia Tech and was named to the All-ACC Second Team. During her final campaign she went 14-3 in the circle with a 1.92 ERA, seventh lowest among the league and finished with a .170 opponent batting average, good for third in the ACC.
During her first season (2007) with the Yellow Jackets, Johnson ranked first in the ACC in saves (5) and third in strikeouts (188) while also finishing the year top-five in the Tech single season record book in strikeouts per game, saves and lowest opponent batting average.
Prior to Tech, Johnson spent a season at B-CU’s rival Florida A&M were she was the 2006 MEAC Rookie of the Year and led FAMU to the MEAC Championship.
During her career, Johnson finished with 497 strikeouts, going 51-17 on the mound.
Tiffany Joyce Johnson, and Atlanta, Georgia native is a 2010 graduate of Georgia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology and Culture, before earning a Masters of Science in Sports Management from American Public University in 2015. She is the daughter of Donald and Connie Johnson.Â
