2013-14 Outdoor Track (Sophomore) Made his collegiate Outdoor debut at the FAMU Relays (3/1), finishing fifth in the javelin with a distance of 41.33m (135-07.00 ft.)...Recorded a career high mark in the javelin to finish third at the North Florida Invitational (4/26), hitting a distance of 48.28m (158-05.00)...At the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships (5/1-5/3) at North Carolina A&T’s (N.C. A&T) Irwin Belk Track, Collins finished 12th in the javelin with a distance of 44.57m (146-03.00 ft.)...Earned MEAC All-Academic honors.

Competed in his first collegiate cross country meet at the Bobby Lang Invitational (9/7), running a 5k time of 21:02.84 to finish 28th...Improved his time in the 5k to 20:39.24 at the home meet, the B-CU Beach Invitational (9/20), finishing 19th...Set a career best mark in the 5k at the 14th Annual FLRunners.com Invitational (9/27) in Titusville, Fla., coming in 30th in 20:07.30...Earned MEAC All-Academic honors.

Graduated from Orlando’s Freedom High School...Played varsity baseball under David Wheeler, earning two letters and earned the Mr. Patriot (MVP) award in 2012 as a senior.

Born Christopher Jared Rahsaan Collins on November 22, 1993 in Oakland, Calif., he is the son of Sharon Collins and the late Gary Collins...He has two siblings, Shalah (24) and Jamilah (22); both B-CU graduates...His sister Jamilah was Miss Bethune-Cookman University...Off the track, Collins enjoys playing video games, listening to music, foods and exercising, including boxing, soccer and baseball...He chose Bethune-Cookman to be the final piece of a family legacy of attending B-CU...As for superstitions, Collins must wear mid-calf Nike socks during every competition, never lets the tail of the javelin touch the ground and texts his mom for good luck...His most prized possession is the last birthday card received from his father before he passed away...Cites his mother as his biggest influence, because she never gave up on him even when he considered giving up himself...Collins is majoring in Biology/Sports Medicine at Bethune-Cookman and has his sights set on a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science.
