- Attended South Plains College, where she finished second in the state in women's heptathlon and third in the pentathlon.
- Attended Towers High School.
- State Champion in region 2A in the 400m and 200m.
- Also competed at the club level with Elite Speed.

- Daughter of Jamal and Salander Simmons.
- Has three siblings, Mario, Tannesha, and Kadere.
- Majoring in Sociology.
- Enjoys making music and cooking, as well as drawing and painting.
